Over 1,000 allied soldiers and military officials will participate in June’s ”Saber Strike” international military exercises in Latvia.

Over 1,000 allied soldiers and military officials will participate in June's ''Saber Strike'' international military exercises in Latvia.

As LETA news agency was informed by the Latvian Defense Ministry, the exercises will take place from June 1 to 26 simultaneously in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland.

Participating in the land and air exercises will also be soldiers and military officials from the United States, Great Britain, Finland, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Canada and Norway.

The goal of the exercise for the Baltic States in cooperation with the allied forces is to improve the armed forces' preparedness for participation in international operations, including in Afghanistan, fostering their compatibility and improving air and ground operations' mutual integration. The exercise also aims at strengthening regional stability and security, improving the allied forces' military cooperation.
